自认是烟客的这名网友说：“我并不反对抽烟，但我认为这些女孩在身穿制服时应该更有自豪感和自律。”
Translation: Spotted, SIA stewardesses smoking outside Changi Airport terminal, tarnishing the image of the ‘Singapore Girl’.
Powdered puff girls
If you’re stuck with the same annoying passengers on a long haul flight, one would probably understand the need for a light-up. Anyway, the Singapore Girl mystique is way passe, like the sarong kebaya outfit which has been around for god knows how long. Still, a reasonable complaint, compared to this:

A (Chinese) journalist, who stopped over at Singapore’s Changi Airport, stated that he was puzzled as to why the women wore slippers.
“It is inappropriate for stewardess to wear slippers,” wrote the reporter.
Besides the dressing, the reporter also compared the looks of China Airways and Singapore Airlines stewardess.
“In a nutshell, China Airways girls are prettier,” he added.
Hey sister sole sister
SIA’s response was that slippers were part of the uniform, something I never really noticed (not that I could ever afford to take Singapore Airlines), but in the light of an unfair, sweeping remark by a jingoistic Chinaman who probably said that in a fit of desperate writer’s block, I must come to our SIA girls’ defence here. Give them a break already, you pick on their call-girl SPG sultriness, their bad english, and now this? I don’t care if China Airways stewardesses bind their feet to turn their countrymen on, I say leave the slippers alone. It’s probably the only comfortable accessory they’ve got on anyway.

I have been on SIA and did not notice that the beautiful girls wore slippers. When you have great service you never notice the clothing.
Less so if they’re beautiful too
hi chinaman, knowing u are communist and have undergone cultural revolution, u are prob from a depraved deprived place that money is the culture. so if u dun understand traditional costumes, saraong kebaya doesn’t come with stilettos. and these are not ur madeinchina panda brand hawker centre slippers. they have beautiful batik embroidery on to match with the kebaya.
