From Why are some scenes dubbed in Hokkien 19 Dec 1987 Letters to ST
Some of the scenes in You’re My Destiny and The Ghost Bride are dubbed in Hokkien. This obviously defeats the objective of the Government keeping films and programmes to Mandarin. What is worse, some of the Hokkien words and phrases used are vulgar.
